Vitamin B6
The least exciting name on the bottle carries the only officially approved wording on it. That contrast is worth a page of its own.
Where Vitamin B6 Comes From
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin that covers six related compounds. The form in most supplements is pyridoxine hydrochloride; the form the body actually uses is pyridoxal 5-phosphate, which it makes from what you eat.
It is widespread in food: chickpeas, tuna, salmon, chicken, potatoes, bananas and fortified cereals all carry useful amounts. Deficiency in people eating an ordinary mixed diet is uncommon.
Being water-soluble matters. Excess is largely excreted rather than stored, which is why the safety picture is good at ordinary doses and why the problems only appear at very high ones.

Verdict: Strong as nutrition, with the narrowest claim on the whole label.
Its Job In This Formula
B6 is a cofactor in more than a hundred enzyme reactions, most of them involving protein and amino acid metabolism. It also has a hand in making neurotransmitters and in normal red blood cell formation.
The claim relevant to a product like this is the approved one: vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. That is regulator-approved wording, which puts it in a different category from everything else on this panel.
It works alongside Chromium, the other nutrition-grade entry here, and Pomegranate, which contributes polyphenols rather than a metabolic role. Read the three of them as the settled part of the label.
How Good Is The Evidence?
Energy-yielding metabolism: approved. This is not a trial result being spun. It is authorised claim language, granted because the biochemistry is established.
Correcting deficiency: strong. Where someone is genuinely short, supplementation works and works quickly.
Extra energy in people who are not short: no. This is the point everyone gets wrong. Contributing to normal metabolism is not the same as boosting it. If your B6 status is fine, more B6 will not make you feel livelier.
PMS symptoms: moderate. Some evidence at doses above what a gummy carries, and it is not what this product is sold for.
The honest framing: this ingredient does exactly what the label says and the label says something modest.
Dose, Timing And What Is Printed
The Recommended Dietary Allowance for adults is 1.3 mg a day, rising slightly after fifty. Supplements commonly carry between 1 and 10 mg, which comfortably covers the requirement.
The tolerable upper intake level for adults is 100 mg a day from supplements. That is the number that matters, and it is the reason for the warning below.
No timing rules. Take it with the rest of the gummy in the morning.
Who Should Check First
The nerve warning. Sustained high-dose B6 — generally hundreds of milligrams a day over months — can cause peripheral neuropathy: numbness, tingling and unsteadiness in the hands and feet. It usually improves after stopping, and it is the single reason to total your B6 across every product you take rather than looking at one bottle.
Stacking. A B-complex, a multivitamin and a gummy can each carry B6, and people rarely add them up. The double-dosing article is about exactly this problem.
Levodopa. B6 can reduce the effectiveness of levodopa taken without carbidopa. Anyone with Parkinson’s disease should raise it with their neurologist.
Some antiepileptics and antibiotics. Interactions in both directions exist. A pharmacist can check a full list in a minute.
Two Things It Is Not
Not an energy booster. The approved wording is "contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism", which describes a cofactor in a pathway, not a lift you will feel.
Not harmless in unlimited amounts. Water-soluble does not mean unlimited. The neuropathy risk at sustained high intake is well documented.
This is not medical advice. Any prescription, pregnancy, breastfeeding or diagnosed condition means a word with a doctor or pharmacist before a first gummy. The full interaction table is on the safety page.
Vitamin B6: What People Ask
Questions about this ingredient specifically.
What does vitamin B6 do?
It acts as a cofactor in over a hundred enzyme reactions, mostly around protein and amino acid metabolism, and it carries an approved claim for contributing to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
Will B6 give me more energy?
Only if you were short of it. Contributing to a normal metabolic pathway is not the same as boosting anything, and most people eating a mixed diet are not deficient.
How much is too much?
The tolerable upper intake level for adults is 100 mg a day from supplements. Sustained intakes well above that have caused peripheral neuropathy.
Can I take it with a multivitamin?
Add the two B6 figures together first. Doubling up is easy to do by accident and this is the ingredient where it matters most.
Is pyridoxine as good as P5P?
For most people, yes. The body converts pyridoxine to pyridoxal 5-phosphate itself. P5P is sometimes preferred where that conversion is impaired, which is uncommon.
